A 21-YEAR-OLD accounts manager was crowned Liverpool’s new beauty queen.
Sarah Fairley, from Maghull, had never entered a beauty competition before taking part in the finals of Miss Liverpool, held before an enthusiastic audience at Liverpool Olympia.
Now she will automatically go through to the Miss England competition later this year, and – if successful there – to Miss World.
The former Deyes high school pupil said she was “over the moon” at the win.
She added: “There were a lot of gorgeous girls there and I didn’t think I’d make it to the top 10, never mind win.
“Now I am just going to try and push myself with the modelling and focus on the Miss England competition.”
A total of 36 girls were in competition for the title of Miss Liverpool, with a judging panel including model and WAG Danielle Lloyd, actress Jennifer Ellison, and model and ECHO columnist Amanda Harrington.
Sarah was a close friend of Dominique Williams – who was killed in a car crash on the way to the Creamfields music festival in 2009 – and said she wanted to use her win to raise money for the memorial trust set up in Dominique’s name.
The Mr Liverpool crown – which took place at the same time as Miss Liverpool – was won by 19-year-old student and personal trainer Daniel O’Connor, from Waterloo.
