OLYMPIC hero Beth Tweddle and TV comic Keith Chegwin were today getting ready to step into their ice skates and power around the rink.
The Liverpool stars are among 12 celebrities vying to be a sensation on Dancing On Ice, which begins on Sunday.
Gymnast Beth, who claimed bronze at the London 2012 Games, said the show was the perfect challenge to fill the void left by taking part in the iconic sporting event.
She said: If I did not have this, I am not sure what I would have felt like after the Olympics finished. I am still doing gymnastics but not as much and so this is a great new challenge for me.
My boyfriend is really pleased I am doing this because he knew it would be difficult for me after training for the Olympics and now I have something else to focus on.
The 27-year-old is about to find out if training for Dancing On Ice is tougher than competing in the Olympics.
She said: It was really nerve-wracking competing for the Olympics because that was my one dream. But equally when you go on a show like this, you dont want to look stupid. I know I will be very nervous once the live shows start.
Beth is partnered with Dan Whiston, who last year skated with Jennifer Ellison.
