OLYMPIC ace Beth Tweddle is among the celebrities going on a UK-wide ice skating tour organised by rugby star Kyran Bracken.
The Dancing on Ice champion will continue skating with rink partner Daniel Whiston in Celebrities on Ice she said today.
The gymnast, who won the show’s latest series, told the ECHO she was still gymnastic training but has put plans to compete on hold.
The London 2012 bronze medallist was back home in the city today to be presented with a body cast sculpture at the Museum of Liverpool.
Speaking about her next project she said: “I had a blast working with Dan and we didn’t want it to end. There is skating and lots of different things too, like aerial acrobats, juggling, circus tricks and singing.
“It’s got some of the stars from Dancing on Ice like Gareth Thomas and Matt Lapinskas and some of the show’s pro skaters.
“But this is just something a bit different than Dancing on Ice. So if the kids want to see skating, they’ll see skating but there’s also a real mix.”
Beth was speaking as she joined Kyran – who grew up in Rainhill and won the ITV show’s crown in 2007 – to announce the tour yesterday.
The arena shows will be hosted by Christopher Biggins and will feature international ice stars and some of the previous contestants from Dancing on Ice including Kyran and former X Factor star Chico.
The tour, which kicks off in Birmingham on April 19, will come to Manchester in May and finish in June.
The announcement comes after this year’s Dancing on Ice live tour was cancelled for the first time in the show’s history.
Organisers said the decision was “due to venue availability.”
