Jurassic World 3 director Collin Trevorrow may have recently revealed the movie’s official title to be Jurassic World: Dominion, but some fans still have absolutely no idea what it means.
Luckily for them, the franchise’s leading star Chris Pratt has now provided a definition of the word ‘Dominion’, which, you know, anyone could have looked up, but at least it provides a clear indication of what will happen in the film.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday (February 25) to mark the first day of shooting on the sequel, Pratt shared a picture of a clapperboard, along with the definition.
“Sovereignty or control. ‘Man’s attempt to establish dominion over nature,'” he captioned the post, adding: “#JurassicWorldDominion Hold onto your butts.”

Those who can cast their minds back as far as 2018 will remember that Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom ended with the humans accidentally-on-purpose letting all the flesh-eating dinosaurs roam free on Earth, as opposed to letting them be gassed to death in a secure facility.
Naturally, as the title suggests, Dominion will now see humanity try to regain control as the world looks set to literally become Jurassic once again.
Dominion will see the return of classic Jurassic Park cast members, including Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern, Sam Neill and Joe Mazzello. They’ll all get to cross paths with Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Omar Sy and Jake Johnson.
“It’s got everybody,” Pratt previously teased. “It’s got pretty much everybody in it.
“Maybe I just blew it, but I don’t care. All the cast from the original Jurassic Park is coming back. It’s going to feel very much like how Endgame brought everything together for Marvel.”
Other newcomers joining the fun for Dominion are Venom star Scott Haze and Altered Carbon‘s Dichen Lachman – although their roles are currently top secret.
Jurassic World Dominion has a release date of June 11, 2021.
