Atomic Kitten star Liz McClarnon is scouring Merseyside in the hope of finding the perfect place to turn into her own gastro-pub.
The Celebrity Masterchef winner has been locked away at a professional cookery school since Christmas learning the skills that she will need to run her own hostelry.

“I’ve been doing butchery and fishmongery – it’s a really hands on course and I’m covered in cuts and burns,” says Liz, 32, from Garston.
“I want to do it properly – it’s not just a case of me putting my name to something. I want to be in there cooking, doing all the hard work.”
She has been working flat out for the last month at Ashburton Cookery School in Devon, but last weekend Toffees fan Liz was back in the city to watch her team’s victory over Aston Villa, and while she was here she took the opportunity to have a look at some possible sites.
“I want somewhere outside the city centre ideally,” she said. “A posh pub. Somewhere on the outskirts would be perfect with really tasty British dishes. Nothing too grand, just a little place in the country.”
Liz first found fame with Liverpool group Atomic Kitten. In 1997, while still in secondary school, her music teacher arranged for her to take part in an audition with OMD’s Andy McCluskey, who was aiming to create a new girl group. The group became the kittens, made up of McClarnon, Kerry Katona and Natasha Hamilton, and they had three UK number one singles, Whole Again, Eternal Flame and The Tide Is High (Get the Feeling).

Last year they toured for the Big Reunion, and in 2008 Liz won Celebrity Masterchef – and has since gone on to train as a professional chef.
“Cooking is my hobby,” she said. “ I’m so excited about opening up my own place – I can’t wait.”
