Celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo visited the city to promote his new book Gino’s Italian Escape: A Taste Of The Sun at Liverpool One’s Waterstones store.
The Italian was happy to be back in the city to meet his fans, and told the ECHO: “We came through Liverpool along the docks which is amazing and it reminded me of being here last year or the year before when we came here to do a special for This Morning and it was beautiful.”
Gino also added that his Scouse fans are “great” and said: “Every time I come to Liverpool I always have a lot of fun.”
“When we were here we went out and came back very late and it was very good. You guys know how to party”.
The This Morning resident chef couldn’t wait to meet his Liverpool fans and also told the ECHO his secret twist on the city’s signature Scouse dish.
He said, “Whenever I’m cooking a stew I always like to add in some caramelised onion and rosemary.”
After being so busy on his book signings, Gino hasn’t had time to watch his co-host Melanie Sykes on this year’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!
He admitted, “I’ve been so busy that I haven’t had a chance to watch her but everyone is telling me she is doing really well.”
“We are filming the festive episode of Let’s Do Lunch With Gino and Mel on Monday so I know she will tell me all about it then.”
