I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here will return to our screens on Sunday for it’s fourteenth series!
With Liverpool’s Gemma Merna set to head in to the jungle, and Craig Charles already signed up for the show, we take a look back at our past Scouse celebs who took the plunge and headed out to the Australian jungle to take part in the nail-biting Bushtucker Trials.
Liverpool-born Conservative MP Nadine Dorries caused quite a stir on her entrance into the jungle in 2012. She upset David Cameron by going on the show and was suspended from her post, and after all that the feisty Scouser was the first to be voted off the show, but not before taking part in the eating Bushtucker Trial where she stomached raw testicles.
Award-winning actress Crissy Rock took part in the show back in 2011, saying she had “the best laugh of her life”. The Benidorm star let her Scouse roots shine through, and became the camp joker after managing 19 days in the jungle.
The former Hollyoaks beauty was the waterfall shower girl of series 7, as she became the latest female to be displayed in her bikini. The actress and glamour model finished fifth place, after the bookies had put her as one of the favourites. The 2004 Queen of the Jungle Kerry Katona blasted her as “totally dull in her bikini constantly”.
Adopted Scouser Sheree Murphy was in the same series as Jenny Frost, but went on to become the series’ runner up, losing out to Carol Thatcher who became 2005’s Queen of the Jungle. She took part in her fair share of Bushtucker Trials, perhaps the most famous one was named ‘Rocky Horror’. Admitting she was ‘scared of everything’ the Emmerdale star said the show definitely made her face her fears.

The former Emmerdale star surprised two of the camp mates when they were sent to rescue a mystery guest back in 2006. Following her exit from the show as the sixth contestant to leave, she predicted David Guest would be crowned King. Reports latest emerged that the pair had been enjoying a string of dates following the show, but Malandra’s agent branded them “as friendly as everyone else”.
Liverpool’s Atomic Kitten Jenny Frost made her way into the jungle back in 2005. She was the fourth person to be eliminated from the series, with her then bandmates and fellow Scousers Liz McClarnon and Natasha Hamilton saying “two weeks in the jungle for Jen without being pamapered…she’s going to go absolutely mental.
