Model Chloe Goodman has “Scouse blood” that could help her fight for her place in the Celebrity Big Brother house, her family said today.
The 21-year-old, who appeared as Cheryl Fernandez-Versini’s body double, is being cheered on by her mum and grandparents in Childwall.
Today her relatives revealed how winning a modelling competition at St John’s Shopping Centre kick started her career in the industry.
They now hope Liverpool will get behind their girl again – after she was put up for eviction just minutes after entering the Celebrity Big Brother House on Wednesday night.
Chloe, who moved to her mum’s hometown when she was two-years-old, spent part of her childhood in Childwall before returning each summer to visit her nan Carole and grandad John Shrader.
Sister Lauryn Goodman, 23, said: “When she was 12 she entered a model search in Liverpool and won. She got into pageants from that, so it all actually started from there. And it snowballed.”
Chloe’s claim to fame is being Cheryl’s body double in her L’Oreal adverts and appearing as a contestant on MTV’s reality show Ex On The Beach.
But the family said nothing prepared them for the attention she has had on this year’s Celebrity Big Brother.
Lauryn said: “I’ve been scared and happy at the same time, because people are always so quick to judge and television is edited. But hopefully she won’t be evicted and people will get to see the real her.
“It’s quite intense. We’ve gone from some people knowing a little bit about her to her now being in the papers every day.”
Chloe and singer Alexander O’Neal face the first public vote of the series as controversial TV star Katie Hopkins was forced to choose the two least entertaining housemates.
Lauryn, who owns her own clothing company, said: “Katie clearly had it in for her from the get-go, she was like ‘Bye Chloe’ so it’s like ‘What is your problem? You don’t even know her’
“I think Big Brother will tell Chloe that it was Katie and Chloe is probably going to question why she was chosen.
“On Ex On The Beach she stuck up for Ricci so that’s the Scouse blood in her coming out, she’ll stick up for what she believes in.
“Our grandparents never normally watch the show, but they’re watching it every day. They’re so proud, and they’ve got Harley, Chloe’s dachshund puppy.”
Mum Carron Goodman said: “We’ve gone from a high at the live launch, being so nervous and excited, to suddenly with the whole eviction being on a massive downer.
“She’s literally been there 10 minutes, and I feel really sorry for her, because she’s not been able to show her real self. “She’s really good fun. She’s so entertaining, she’s happy. It’s not coming across, especially because when she first went into Celebrity Big Brother the nerves took over, she couldn’t speak to [host] Emma Willis properly.
“We just hope everyone in Liverpool supports her.”
What you need to know about Chloe:
The model from Brighton appeared on MTV reality show Ex On The Beach last year, which saw single contestants looking to find love on a paradise island before being joined by their exes.
She vowed not to strip off on camera for the sake of it, and admitted her issues with hygiene may mean she does all the cleaning in the house.
She said: “I think people will realise that I’m not the sexy one when I get comfortable. I’ll have my hair up, no make-up on, sweats on. Probably burping, we’ll see how comfortable I get.”
