X Factor fans may have been closely following budding star Kiera Weathers as she tries out for this year’s series.
But the St Helens singer isn’t the only Merseysider to have sailed through the audition round, boot camp and onto the Six Chair Challenge.
Another Merseyside hopeful – Chloe Baker – is also fighting for a place at the Judges’ Houses.
Super fans may have spotted singer Chloe, from Stockbridge Village, on X Factor’s spin-off show, The Xtra Factor, at the weekend.
Chloe, 21, joined hosts Melvin Odoom and Rochelle Humes to talk about her first audition and her enviable Scouse bouncy blow dry (£20 well spent she says).
But for many viewers the Six Chair Challenge could be the first time they get a taste of her vocal talents.
While Chloe’s auditions have so far been left on the cutting room floor, she shared The Xtra Factor’s footage of her audition on social media.
Despite training at the city’s Merseyside Dance and Drama Centre, she said nothing could prepare her for stepping in front of Simon Cowell and co.
Dance teacher Chloe tells the ECHO: “It was overwhelming. Even with a performance background it was nerve wracking. I don’t think anything can prepare you for doing something like The X Factor.
“I’ve grown up watching it, but you never imagine doing it yourself.”
The solo singer went on to sing Ain’t No Sunshine at boot camp and made the final 16 in Rita Ora’s Girls category.
Each of the singers will perform and mentor Rita must decide which of them gets a chair, which equals a spot at Judges’ Houses. Although once on a chair they can be swapped for another hopeful.
Chloe adds: “I was made up. I couldn’t believe it, because it was the last 16. Little old me!
“The other girls are super talented. So it’s just amazing to be put next to the other talent.
“I know it looked dead cringy crying but I was just dead made up. They were happy tears.”
For Chloe it’s a second shot at X Factor stardom, having come over from Portugal – where she was singing for the summer season last year – to audition last series.
Will she wow at Wembley?

If there’s one contestant who’s arguably been the stand-out star of this year’s audition rounds it’s Kiera.
The St Helens barmaid – who was inspired to follow her singing ambition after the death of her mum – is already a firm fan favourite.
Kiera, 18, has wowed since her first audition and made a big impression again at boot camp.
Although Simon may have said he wasn’t too keen on her voice during last week’s show, we’re certain she can make him eat his words.
Our verdict: The one to beat!
Chloe’s first audition went down a storm and she was given a special mention for “stealing the show” at boot camp during the group challenge.
The 21-year-old may live in Brighton but it’s her Liverpool family that she can thank for her musical roots. Chloe’s late grandfather Tommy Farrell inspired her to audition for the show.
She’s already proved herself to be popular with the judges.
Our verdict: We spy another Six Chair success story.
