I’m A Celebrity star Jorgie Porter broke down in tears as she bared her soul over her childhood.
The emotional Hollyoaks actress told her camp mates that she was raised by her grandma – who died last year – and her mum.
She was comforted by Union J’s George Shelley who hugged her as she chatted about her family and how they did all they could to help her fulfil her dance school dream.
Speaking during tonight’s show, she said: “I’ve always lived with my grandma and my mum. I’ve never had a dad. And it’s not like a big deal because I’ve never known. So I don’t know.”
She added: “So my grandma was sort of like my mum, and my mum was like my sister. And we’ve always been like a woman strong unit.
“So then my grandma died just recently last year, but grandma was a music teacher. And I went to loads of auditions for ballet school.”
Jorgie, 27, told the celebrities the tears were because she was remembering “how good” her family is.
The soap star went on to explain how her mum had started to raise cash to cover the cost of her place at ballet school but they were thrown a lifeline when Jorgie was awarded a scholarship.
She said: “I made it into one, it was like thousands and thousands and thousands of pounds and we couldn’t afford it.
“My mum’s an artist. So she raised £2,000 and she was like ‘I’m going to make sure you make it to dance school Jorgie because it’s your dream and you’ve got to do it’
“And then I got a scholarship in the end so she didn’t have to keep working.”
Speaking afterwards fellow camper Yvette Fielding told the cameras: “To bear your soul like that in front of [her camp mates], we are strangers really, it’s a very brave thing to do.”
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! continues at 9pm tomorrow on ITV.
