Iskra Lawrence is an outspoken model who has been making a name for herself by promoting a positive body image and now she has gone completely naked for Women’s Health UK.
The ‘plus size’ Instagramer (if you can call her that at a UK size 14) regularly checks into Liverpool for visits and photo shoots and posts to her 2.4 million followers.
Iskra has gained a loyal fanbase by regularly calling out Internet trolls, unapologetically sharing pictures of her stretch marks (tiger stripes) and seeking to empower others by letting her followers know good selfies are all about tricks of light and stance.
The 25-year-old has become an inspiration for thousands of people with her strong message of body confidence so it came as no surprise that she would be featured in Women’s Health UK’s naked issue.
She said: “Oh hi there… So honoured to be part of @ukwomenshealth naked issue and you can get your copy of the magazine on news stands now in the UK.
“There are more pics and an intimate interview. Thank you @wrightmedia @johnwrightphoto for the beautiful shoot #iskralawrence #everyBODYisbeautiful and yes I asked for the unretouched pics so this is totally unretouched.”
The jet-setting model now lives in New York but always has her location turned on for all her Instagram posts and makes routine stops to our beautiful city whenever she is in the UK.
Originally from Worcester, Iskra spoke to Femail earlier this year about her feelings one being called “obese”, “fat” and “disgusting” by internet bullies on a daily basis.
She said: “These messages don’t just attack me but they attack anyone like me and anyone above my size and said that we were the reason the healthcare system is f***** up.
“It’s something I can laugh about because it’s so ridiculous – I can picture that person hiding behind a keyboard and it’s their insecurities – but a lot of people who follow me were upset by it so I saw it as a chance to make an example, to stand up.
“Whoever you are, this is a reflection of you and if you’re putting negativity out there, you’re only going to get negativity back so if you’re positive and loving, I’m sure positivity will come back to you.”
