Someone on the group shared a picture of the seasoning, and then of her finished chicken, saying: “Bloody amazing this stuff is.”
After gathering thousands of likes, there were also people asking how she actually made it, she replied: “I just used these, chopped some spring onion, red onion, mushrooms and red chilli’s and fried it all together with garlic oil then sprinkled the seasoning over! Easy peasy!”
And this lady isn’t the only person to discover the bargain find, someone else a few weeks ago used it to make some suspiciously chippy-looking chips.
They wrote: “I bought this stuff from Home Bargains that everyone was raving about and to be honest I didn’t think it would be that good…….I made salt and chilli chips tonight and used it and they were fab! Highly recommend this.”
Home Bargains confirmed to The Sun it was currently rolling out the salt and chilli pepper seasoning across all of their stores.
Of course, you don’t want to get your hopes up before you start Googling your nearest Home Bargains, so here are a load of people who whole-heartedly agree that it creates a true takeaway flavour.
One person replied: “I made salt and pepper chips with it last night. Was absolutely delicious! I recommend it.”
Another commented: “I have done this on chips didn’t think to put on chicken…. looking forward to doing this.”
Someone else was struggling to find the seasoning though, writing: “I’ve tried to get this but it’s always out of stock, I phoned Home Bargains today and was advised to phone first thing Saturday morning and ask them to put it by for me, I live 25 mins from the store so don’t want to keep chancing it!“
So there you have it – make yourself your own Chinese takeaway, think of the money you’ll save. And you could also make it healthier, or spicier, depending on your tastes.
As you can see though, the sought-after seasoning is proving pretty elusive for some people, so bear in mind your local Home Bargains may not be stocking it yet.
You can also find the same stuff in most Chinese supermarkets, so if Home Bargains doesn’t have it, that could be your best option.
