The boss of a naked cleaning company has hit back at the haters who reckoned she wouldn’t do the job of scrubbing homes in her undies herself – pledging she’ll be doing precisely that to prove her point.
Nikki Belton, 33, quit her ‘normal’ £16.50-an-hour cleaning role because she realised launching her unique new venture would make her A LOT more cash.
She then went on to start up her own business, The Naked Cleaning Company, which offers various domestic cleaning services from lingerie-clad, topless and fully naked cleaners, with prices ranging from £75 to £95 an hour ($98 to $124 an hour).
Now Belton is planning to strip down to her underwear to clean the houses of five customers, after critics on social media argued she wouldn’t have the guts to do it herself.
Belton, who is adamant that working as a naked cleaner isn’t sexual, explained: “I launched the Naked Cleaning Company as a branch of my main cleaning company because I noticed that there was nothing like it out there.
“Our cleaners will carry out tasks such as vacuuming, dusting and wiping surfaces, but with a twist.
“The service costs £75 per hour for topless and lingerie, and £95 per hour for fully naked cleaning.
“I’ve had a normal cleaning business for five years and charge £16.50 per hour for that, so I think the naked cleaning will be a lot more profitable.
“So far we’ve had thousands of people contacting us who are interested – but some people don’t actually think it’s real because it’s so unheard of.
“I’m quite confident that we can do well and I can’t wait to see how it goes.
“I want to hit out at the people who’ve been saying that I wouldn’t do it, so I’m offering to clean for five people myself.”
After launching in January, The Naked Cleaning Company has cleaners across the country now available to book via the confidential website – a process that Belton assures is safe and secure, with both clients and cleaners DBS checked for safety.
Cleaners must be over the age of 25, and are required to have some professional cleaning experience. Other than that, they can be any shape, and any size.
The company’s prospective clientele, meanwhile, is mainly ‘busy professional’ men wanting their house cleaned by women.
When staff arrive at the client’s given address, they are fully clothed in smart trousers and a coat. They can then strip off whenever they like to start cleaning.
The cleaners, who are self-employed, have to wear special globes while carrying out tasks, and are told to avoid bleach.
Belton said the business also operates a strict ‘no touch’ policy, and explained she can’t understand people who argue that the role is the same as being a sex worker.
Belton, from Hartley in Plymouth, added: “My family and friends back me but say I’m crazy for setting this up.
“Others say that they wouldn’t expect someone to actually run with the idea, but I don’t really care what people think.
“At the end of the day we’re a business and there’s nothing sexual about it – it’s more of an individual mindset where people can appreciate the male and female body while respecting the nature of our company.
“Our cleaners aren’t sex objects, they’re there to do a job.
“I’d like to encourage our employees to build their confidence and be proud of their bodies through working with us.
“In the future we want to branch out internationally and maybe even employ some naked butlers too.”
