It has been revealed that Corrie’s Jennie McAlpine is set to swap Weatherfield’s cobbles for cobwebs in the jungle.
The Coronation Street star has jetted off down under for this year’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here.
The 33-year-old mum talked about the time she’ll be spending away from her son, as she confirmed that she was the seventh celeb joining Ant and Dec in Australia.
Jennie landed in Brisbane Airport to take a break from the role of Fiz Brown – who she has played on the cobbles since 2001.
Asked about going into the jungle, she told Mirror Online : “I am going to the Neighbours set, that is my first port of call.
And she was quick to confirm she would return to Corrie in the New Year, saying: “Yeah, this is just a little holiday. What is happening to Fiz whilst I am away? That is a good question.”
Jennie has a two-year-old son called Albert and her husband Chris Farr is on parenting duties for the next month.
She said: “My little boy is being looked after by daddy. I think they are having a bit of a adventure.”
Jennie followed boxer Amir Khan to Oz. He also arrived on Sunday.
The Saturdays’ singer Vanessa White, Made In Chelsea star Georgia Toffolo and actor Jamie Lomas all jetted into Australia on Saturday.
On Friday, footie hardman Dennis Wise, 50, and YouTube vlogger Jack Maynard, 22, landed in Australia for the ITV show.
Others expected to join the line-up include Rebekah Vardy, the wife of Leicester City footballer Jamie Vardy; Gogglebox star Sandra Martin and Wimbledon champion Boris Becker.
I’m A Celebrity starts on ITV November 19.
