Ant McPartlin has pleaded guilty to drink driving at Wimbeldon Magistrates Court today.
The I’m A Celebrity star admitted the charge, after crashing his black mini in London.
Ant was banned from driving for 20 months, which could be reduced to 15 months if he goes on a drink-driving referral programme, and given an £86,000 fine.
The prosecution said that McPartlin has apologised to police for what he has done, and admitted that he has a problem with alcohol and “emotional issues”.
In a statement, he apologised for his behaviour, he said: “I’m very sorry I did this. I’m ashamed and mortified that this happened.”
Ant, 42, hasn’t been seen in public since checking into rehab on March 21 – three days after he crashed his car into two other vehicles in south west London.
Ant was arrested after being involved in a crash with the cars- one of which had a four-year-old girl as a passenger.
He blew a breathalyser reading of 75mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath – the legal limit is 35 mcg.
He was originally due in court on April 4, however that date was pushed back amid claims he was in an ‘intense’ phase of his recovery.
Following his arrest, Ant cancelled all work commitments for the ‘foreseeable’ future, including Saturday Night Takeaway and Britain’s Got Talent.
