Eastbound and Down star Danny McBride has revealed what his movie biopic would be like and we’ll warn you, it’s pretty out there.
You could say movie biopics are kind of the new Marvel… well, you would be wrong to say that, but following the slew of recent films based on famous faces – including Bohemian Rhapsody, Rocketman, Judy and Tolkien – they’re certainly having a moment.
Plus there’s many more in the works about Elvis Presley, Aretha Franklin and Bob Marley to name but a few. So Digital Spy has begun to quiz celebrities on what exactly their movie biopic – or Movie of Me – would be like.
Who would play them? Some handsome, hot new actor? Or would they just rope in a family member to get them into the biz? Would they line up their famous pals for cameos, or would they even want to pop up themselves?
What would the soundtrack be? Thumping hits for their youth? Their favourite tracks? Or just cheekily squeeze in their own discography to get all those extra streams?
And what are the key moments of their life that would make up the movie? Plus, what embarrassing bits would they want to cut or re-write altogether?
McBride’s works includes blockbusters movies such as Alien Covenant, cult classics like Pineapple Express and This Is The End, as well as his new HBO TV show, The Righteous Gemstones.
The show charts the Gemstone family, a group of TV preachers running a megachurch in America – and making a fine profit from their congregation at the same time.
Danny appears as Jesse Gemstone alongside John Goodman as Dr. Eli Gemstone, Adam Devine as Kelvin Gemstone and Edi Patterson as Judy Gemstone.
The Righteous Gemstones is on Sky Comedy and NOW TV from February 5 at 9pm.
