A family in Texas have been baffled by a ‘haunted’ doll that not only mysteriously changed language from English to Spanish, but also kept returning into their lives when they threw it out.
Nope, not Chucky…but Elsa, the blonde lass from Frozen.
Emily Madonia explained that it all began back in 2013 at Christmas, when her daughter was given an Elsa doll. All was fine for two years, as Elsa would say recited phrases and sing ‘Let It Go’ every time you pressed a button on her necklace.
Madonia told click2Houston.com: “In 2015, it started doing it alternating between Spanish and English. There wasn’t a button that changed these, it was just random.”
Madonia explained that the doll continued to speak and sing randomly, even while it was switched off.
But it doesn’t stop there.
Sharing the tale of the strange doll on Facebook, Madonia wrote: “Ok guys, seriously, we need help. To recap for those of you who have not been following our Elsa doll saga, Mat threw it away weeks ago and then we found it inside a wooden bench.
“Okay… So we were weirded out and tightly wrapped it in its own garbage bag and put that garbage bag INSIDE another garbage bag filled with other garbage and put it in the bottom of our garbage can underneath a bunch of other bags of garbage and wheeled it to the curb and it was collected on garbage day. Great, right? We went out of town, forgot about it.
“Today Aurélia says ‘Mom, I saw the Elsa doll again in the backyard.’
“HELP US GET RID OF THIS HAUNTED DOLL.”
That’s right, Elsa somehow returned, and in a later update Madonia explained that it ‘definitely’ wasn’t the doings of her husband or kids.
She said: “Is this a hoax? Sadly, no. Either the doll is haunted or some crazy psychopath has dug the doll out of the garbage (that was already taken away) and broken into my house/property multiple times. I am going to go with the haunted thing.”
Now Madonia has decided to get rid of the thing once and for all, having let her friend Chris – who lives 1,500 miles away in Minnesota – take care of it. She posted it to him, and he sent her a photo to prove Elsa had made it to him safely, identifying the doll as the correct creepy toy in question by a mark her daughter had made on it.
He evne taped her to the brush guard of his Jeep, and promised that is anything ‘weird’ happens he’ll be ‘welding her into a steel pipe and sinking it in the Lake of the Woods’.
While Madonia is still thoroughly confused by everything that’s happened, at least it would appear the doll is finally out of her family’s life. For now, anyway.
“Most logical thinkers believe it’s a prank, but I don’t understand how or when it was done, especially because the garbage truck had taken it away,” she told click2Houston.com.
“If the doll comes back, I might have to open my mind to some of the more supernatural solutions.”
