Millions of viewers were gutted when Gogglebox’s Leon Bernicoff died last December after a short illness.
And his wife June revealed to the ECHO that every day she keeps waiting for him to walk in the room.
June left viewers in tears as she spoke fondly of Leon while talking to hosts Eamonn and Ruth on This Morning .
Asked what first attracted her to Leon when they met, she said: “It was instant attraction, I remember, and the cheeky grin.”
She also revealed that she ‘can’t remember life without him’ when asked how she is coping nine months on from Leon’s passing.
She said: “Fortunately I have been kept busy as I was approached to write the book, and that’s been wonderful because it’s given me a purpose.
“To think back about things… at first it was just sadness as you just remember the last few days, whereas going back to when we met and all the fun we had, our jobs, having a family…63 years.
“Quite honestly I can’t remember life without him.”
Fans instantly took to Twitter to share their emotions after June’s admission.
@KateCliffo said: “Lovely to see June @LeonAndJune on @ThisMorning – you and Leon were always my favourites on Gogglebox and are really missed.
“Leon was such a character, he made us all smile. Sending you big hugs June xxx”
@coreyseville said: “June talking about Leon is breaking my heart what a beautiful couple they were!”
And another user added: “I’m in tears, Ruth is in tears. Leon was so loved. June is coping so well. Gogglebox isn’t the same without them.”
Having previously expressed their love for the duo, Eamonn and Ruth said, “You were just like us.”
Eamonn added: “He used to fancy my wife!”
June replied: “Oh I know!”
Ruth smiled: “I remember when they featured me on Strictly – on Gogglebox – and I always remember loving him because he’d say ‘Go on Ruth! Go on Ruth!’…”
