Tony Bellew has claimed his Twitter account was hacked following a heated rant over the news that David Beckham was caught using his phone while driving.
The cruiserweight’s Twitter was used to slam the member of the public who reported the offence.
The tweets read: “Seen the news this morning and couldn’t believe that someone went out there way to call the police on David Beckham ‘cos he had his phone in his hand while driving!
“You sad horrible snitch!”
This was followed another, expletive ridden tweet, claiming the world is “PC MAD”.
He added: “Every person saying this and that has probably done the exact same at some point! Is right? NO!!
“Are you f*****g perfect? I know I’m not!!
“We make mistakes WE ARE HUMAN!!
“It still doesn’t make it right to picture the man and start snitching! World has gone f*****g PC MAD!”
But after receiving criticism, Bellew has now revealed that he was hacked on Twitter – and has now deleted the tweets regarding Beckham’s charge.
Writing on Twitter the Liverpool boxer said: “So waking up to the news that I was hacked yesterday… I’ve been told change passwords etc etc and go from there.
“I’d usually say I’m bothered but in all honesty I’m not.. social media isn’t real and never has been.. oh well have a good day.”
He accompanied the post with a screenshot of an email from Twitter saying that his password had been changed.
