The second trailer for X-Men spin-off The New Mutants has finally arrived, more than two years after the first one.
Much like the first trailer, it really highlights the horror aspect as a group of young mutants are held for psychiatric monitoring. However, when strange events happen, their new mutant abilities will be tested as they battle to try and make it out alive.
The new trailer gives us the best look yet at every character in the spin-off, including Maisie Williams’ Scottish accent.
The movie’s director Josh Boone confirmed on Instagram last week that another look at The New Mutants was coming, as well as revealing that the movie will be released in its original form with no reshoots.
Last month, New Mutants actor Charlie Heaton pointed to the Fox and Disney merger as the reason behind the X-Men spin-off movie’s delay.
The film was originally scheduled to hit cinemas in April 2018, before being pushed back to February 2019. Now Heaton, who also stars in Stranger Things, has confirmed that it’ll finally be released next year.
“It’s coming out next year, but we filmed it almost two years ago,” he explained. “It’s the release (date) that’s been moved quite a while… We shot this a while back and it’s been pushed because Fox has now merged with Disney.”

The New Mutants also stars Game of Thrones‘ Maisie Williams and Split‘s Anya Taylor-Joy, and is set to be a “full-fledged” horror film.
The New Mutants is released in the US on April 3 and in the UK on April 8.
