Paddy McGuinness’ wife Christine is well known for her love of the gym – and it seems like Paddy has been inspired by his other half, if his latest Instagram posts are anything to go by.
Paddy has a gruelling work schedule , as he works on several shows such as Take Me Out, Top Gear and Celebrity Juice.
But he’s taken time out of his busy life to hit the gym – and he’s been going to pretty extreme lengths when he’s there.
Dad-of-three Paddy has been training with the World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall and gym owner Martyn Ford and he’s been put through his paces by the pair.
In a recent video Paddy has been lifting Eddie on the gym equipment, on the leg press and arm press.
He captioned the video: “I think @eddiehallwsm needs to have a serious look at his diet. Anymore of those full brekkies and I’ll not be able to budge him!!! Another good session today at @strengthasylum with Eddie and @martynfordofficial PS nothing says romance like matching lifting straps. #thursday#backday#liftingthebeast#gettingstronger#training#weights#batman#fightingcrimeliftingmen ”
As well as lifting Eddie, Paddy has been lifting serious weights – with his muscles visibly bulging on several videos.
He said: “Here’s a little cut down snippet of me trying a few of these strongman challenges. I love watching @giantslivewsm on the tele but trying it out brings it home how strong @eddiehallwsm and the rest of those lads are!!!
“Just this frame with no weights on is 120kg!!! Full session will be on the big mans YouTube channel soon. #worldsstrongestboltoner#wednesday#yolkwalk#atlasstones#hernia ”
Speaking about training with the pair Paddy said: “Absolutely love training with @martynfordofficial & @eddiehallwsm their expertise and tips have proven invaluable. #training#chest#shoulderinjury#gym#pressing#pushedtomylimits ”
Even after undergoing surgery on his shoulder Paddy has still been managing to lift very heavy weights – under the guidance of his trainers.
He said: “Back in the auld iron paradise today. This is the first time in nigh on five months that I’ve done any kind of pressing. My shoulder is feeling much better after surgery and although I’m still not getting a full range of movement it was great to get a bit of blood in the chest!!”
As well as training hard, Paddy has also been eating well, sharing a snap of his shopping basket with fans – which contained lots of healthy treats.
He said: “I’ve had 4 months of no gym, injuries, keyhole surgery on my shoulder, a vasectomy and lots and lots of cake (which was nice). Now it’s time to start training again and it all begins with the fuel you put in the tank!!! #weekend#bigshop#gettingbackinshape#organic#food#training#fuel ”
