Donald Trump vows to release docs that sparked Mueller probe

President Trump blasted the “treason” of the Mueller investigation on Wednesday night and vowed to release the unredacted FISA warrants that sparked the probe.

Trump said during an interview with Fox News that lawyers had advised him not to declassify the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrants due to possible exposure to obstruction of justice charges.

Now that the Mueller investigation has come to an end, Trump plans to make the warrants public.

“I have plans to declassify and release. I have plans to absolutely release,” he told the network.

“A lot of people wanted me to do it a long time ago. I’m glad I didn’t do it. We got a great result without having to do it, but we will. One of the reasons that my lawyers didn’t want me to do it, is they said, if I do it, they’ll call it a form of obstruction.”

The FISA warrants were issued to spy on former Trump campaign aide Carter Page. Trump claims making them public will prove that Democrats, including 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, coordinated in an effort to remove him from office.
