Idaho Falls, IDAHO (KIFI/KIDK) – For the first time in over 22 years, the Brigham Young University’s International Folk Dance Ensemble performed in Idaho Falls.
The BYU International Performing Group present the cultured radiation of dances and music from over a dozen nations including the US.
Last night they performed at the Civic Center at Idaho Falls High School for their one-stop tour.
The Civic Auditorium was filled with local community members catching a glimpse of the unique dance styles of the world.
Bob Devine, better known as the Idaho Falls Principle, is the BYU Alumni Chair for the Eastern Idaho Chapter.
He took part in sponsorship that brought the International Folk Dancers to Idaho Falls.
The group regularly presents its international repertoire throughout the country.
Devine says, he had to book them over a year in advance.
Ticket sales for the program went around $15 – $30 dollars per seat.
All proceeds raised from the event will go towards helping BYU student pay for school.
