Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt says there are still more games to be played before any results will determine the league championship.
Wits’ hopes of winning the league this season suffered a major dent after they were beaten 2-1 by Highlands Park at Makhulong Stadium in Tembisa on Saturday.
However, despite the loss, the Students still remain top of the log with 37 points after 20 matches.
“There are still 10 more games to play. Anything can still happen,” said Hunt after watching his team loosen their grip on their title challenge.
“We’re not making things easy for ourselves in our last two to three results. We need to keep going and try our best,” he added.
Hunt blamed poor finishing and mistakes at the back as the main reason behind their downfall against Highlands Park.
“Open goals… we’re missing and our finishing was poor. Two players made the same two mistakes. This is not what we expected. Ja, I am disappointed,” said Hunt.
