SAN ANGELO, TX – About a month ago, Angelo State Police received a call from a victim of an online credit card scam.
The caller stated that their credit card had been used without their authorization at a local Domino’s.
A week later, another similar incident was reported. Following investigations revealed that the reports were related to a popular Twitter scam that’s been growing since 2014.
Online scammers are able to access a victim’s name, number, address, and payment information through making social media accounts. In this case, they were posing to be a local food chain with fraudulent advertisements.
Victims to the credit card abuse should contact their local authorities and banks right away.
