Do you remember the game King of the Mountain? It was played on any dirt pile. All were invited to join the fun. The larger the crowd, the more fun it was. The game was simple. Just get on top any way you could, and be king of that mountain as long as you could.
It was muddy and dirty and without any rules. There was no fair play, just every man for himself. Just accomplish your goal. Get to the top and stay there. Those days disappeared a long time ago. Our bodies have grown older and we have matured.
We have finished our schooling, college and beyond. Our thinking is straight and our morals are pure. Some are in business and are leaders in our land, and those childhood games are a thing of the past. What you don’t know is the childhood game of King of the Mountain is alive and well.
It has been replaced with a new and improved adult version and is now called politics. Nothing has changed. The game is the same only the players have grown up. The mountain is no longer a dirt pile in the backyard. It has been replaced with the future of our country and possibly the world. The stakes are high, but the purpose is the same – do what you must just to stay on top.
There are no rules – anything goes, just stay on top.
Some things never change!
