Teen gang attack in Plymouth city centre put man in hospital

 


A gang of violent teenagers attacked a man on his 50s in Plymouth city centre, police have said.

The victim was in Armada Way when he was reportedly set upon by a group of youths, who launched kicks and threw punches.

 

Police, who say the man suffered facial injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment, have today launched an appeal for witnesses.

In statement published on the police website, a spokesperson said: “Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Plymouth

“The incident was reported to have taken place between 9.25pm and 9.35pm on Saturday 12 January. It happened on Armada Way, between the Greedy Pig Café and the Sundial.

“The victim, a man in his 50s, was reportedly approached by a group of teenagers who punched and kicked the victim. He sustained facial injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting CR/003871/19.”
