MTA joyrider’s run ends after arrested near home in bus

A Bronx teen’s string of joyrides on MTA buses came to an end after he made the mistake of finishing his latest jaunt just four blocks from his home, police said.

Mamoudou Camara, 18, of Melrose, was arrested Saturday and faces four counts each of grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property in relation to four bus thefts over the past two months, according to cops.

Most recently, an MTA bus was swiped from in front of the Spring Creek Depot on Flatlands Avenue in Brooklyn on January 27 and driven 21 miles to a spot in the Bronx just a few blocks from Camara’s home, officials said.

Investigators were able to trace the teen from the parked bus back to his home using surveillance footage, according to cops.

Camara was allegedly joined by groups of other adolescents for his first two joyrides on December 23, but officials say he appeared to be on his own when he took a bus on an eight-mile trip from Queens into Brooklyn on January 15.

None of the buses were damaged in the incidents, officials said.

Camara is due back in court in Brooklyn on February 19.
