Peoria Sports Complex is gearing up for spring training, and has a number of game promotions on its Cactus League schedule.
The Seattle Mariners’ pitchers and catchers report to Peoria Sports Complex, 16101 N. 83rd Ave., Monday, Feb. 11, followed by the first workout Feb. 12, position players reporting Feb. 15, and the first full workout Feb. 16.
The San Diego Padres’ pitchers and catchers report Tuesday, Feb. 12, followed by the first workout Feb. 13, position players reporting Feb. 17, and the first full workout Feb. 18.
Charity Game – Saturday, Feb. 23

Kids Days – Feb. 24, March 3, 20, 23
Kids ages 8 to 12 will have the chance to sign up to participate in special experiences on a first-come, first-serve basis. Take the field with a player, announce a batter or sing the 7th inning stretch. Visit Guest Services up to one hour before first pitch on game day to register for an activity. One activity per child, subject to availability. Plus, every kid can run the bases after the game. Just line up behind Section 118 at the end of the game for a trip around the diamond.
Dog Days – Feb. 25, March 6, 9, 21
The ballpark welcomes man’s best friend and supports the Arizona Humane Society with this special offer available for select games that fall on Dog Days. Sit on the lawn with your dog at a game. All dog admission proceeds will be donated to the Arizona Humane Society. $5 dog admission tickets are available for purchase at the ticket office windows only. Stadium admission with dogs is limited to Gate C only. Dogs must remain on leash. Water troughs are provided. Please pick up your dog’s waste.
Book it to the Ballpark – Thursday, Feb. 28
Celebrate local libraries and offer the opportunity to play catch on the field after the game for everyone that donates a like-new children’s book. Participants should bring their own ball and glove. Books should be donated during the game at the library’s booth on the third base concourse.
Giveaway Days – March 1, 7
Come to the ballpark Friday, March 1 and the first 3,000 people in attendance will receive a Mariners personal cellphone mini-fan to plug and play to keep cool on hot days. Return to the ballpark Thursday, March 7 where the first 3,000 fans through the gates will receive a keepsake Padres earbuds case with key ring.
Little League Day – Sunday, March 10
Celebrate all local Little Leaguers with a pregame parade in uniform on the field, recitation of the Little League Pledge and other special activities throughout the game.
Education Night – Tuesday, March 12
It will be a night to remember for Peoria Unified School District as teachers, students, administrators, parents and supporters unite to raise money for the Peoria Education Foundation.
Bike to the Ballpark – Saturday, March 16
Take advantage of Peoria’s abundant trail system and earn the opportunity to play catch on the field after the game by riding your bike to the ballpark. Participants should bring their own ball and glove. Bikes should be parked and locked outside Gate B. Attendant for bike parking area will be provided.
St. Patrick’s Day – Sunday, March 17
Celebrate by wearing your favorite swag and green-colored clothing for a day at the ballpark. Take advantage of the Craft Beer Courtyard, where $20 gets four 12-oz. craft beers of your choice.
Prospect Series – March 18, 19
A pair of $1 admission games while the Mariners head to Japan for a special preseason series. Watch the top minor league prospects of the Mariners and Padres go head-to-head in the stadium. Special 12:10 p.m. start times during spring break week accompany the $1 ticket prices for these games. Plus, the first 1,000 fans through the gates for each game will receive a surprise team giveaway item.
