Apple to enter restaurant-reservation market?
Apple to enter restaurant-reservation market?
Apple may expand into new areas in the future. As part of its plan to better serve its Siri users, the Cuperti**-based company is already offering restaurant reservations powered by OpenTable. The existing system, however, isn’t good e**ugh for Cook & Co, so they want to improve it. In a patent filing, Apple describes a system that would work much better, allowing users to manage their wait lists and even order items, all from the comfort of their iPhones. Additionally, users will be able to quickly locate nearby restaurants that have a short wait time for a table. Plus, the system will be able to learn from past experiences, suggesting places each individual user prefers on any given day, while also taking into account user-submitted information like food allergies and other preferences. Sounds great though we’re **t sure this is the “right” market for Apple. They definitely have the tech k**w-how to revolutionize this industry and it remains to be seen whether they’ll be pitching restaurants themselves or make this possible by extending their partnership with OpenTable. We’ll see, and in the meantime you are free to check out the patent below… [Via: PatentlyApple] The post Apple to enter restaurant-reservation market? appeared first on IntoMobile.
