The Scaling Success Grant returns for a second year. This grant is designed to support faculty as they scale up to increasingly impactful team research, scholarship and creative works, including larger and mega awards from external sponsors. This year, in order to be nimbly responsive to sponsor interest, Scaling applications will be reviewed on a monthly basis, except in December and June (please see the program website for specific guidelines and dates). Applicants may apply for up to $60,000 for a 12-month period, at the end of which Research Development and Support will assist awardees with a proposal to the external sponsor. The next Scaling Success deadline is Sept. 16 at 11:59 p.m.

Seeding Success Grants continue to support projects in their early stages or projects on a new research topic or shift in direction. Proposed Seeding projects should have the potential for significant impact and lay the groundwork for future external funding through competitive proposal development. While faculty are always encouraged to begin considering sponsor programs that could support their work early on, applicants for Seeding Success Grants are not required to have documented external sponsor interest in their project. There are two Seeding Success Grant deadlines per academic year, one per semester. The fall deadline for Seeding Success applications is Sept. 21 at 11:59 p.m. Applicants may apply for up to $60,000 a year for a two-year period. Please see the program website for more information about the program and application information.

The Rapid Advancement Micro-grant Program (RAMP) has increased from a maximum amount of $3,000 to $5,000 for academic year 2022–23. RAMP awards are smaller-scale funding opportunities that require a quick response. RAMP awards exclusively support research expenses. Applications are reviewed monthly. Please see the program website for more information and application details.
